How excretion occur
in shelled eggs?
Excretory products are stored within the shell in special packings.e.gBirds ( egg laying) excrete their nitrogenous wastes as uric acid in the form of a paste. This process is metabolically more expensive but it allows more efficient water retention, therefore embryos store uric acid more easily in the egg.
The allantois (plural
allantoides or allantoises) is a hollow sac-like structure filled with clear
fluid that forms part of a developing amniote's conceptus (which consists of
all embryonic and extra-embryonic tissues).
This sac-like
structure is primarily involved in nutrition and excretion, and is webbed with
blood vessels for gaseous exchange.
